My Workout:

Regular guy here... I work out about 4-5 times a week, 1- 1 1/2 hr every time.

Diet wise-- I eat lots of carbs (rice, noodle, especially-- love Asian food!! or course, I luv all kinds of food, too, like Italian, Cajun, etc. ), not too partial to protein. I eat lots of meat, too....alright, almost everything! :-)

Supplementation: multiple vitamin primarily

My work out focuses on concerntration, breathing technique, etc, with the right forms of course!
It's simple and healthy!

=====note added as of Sep 30=======

Optimize your time at the gym-- The fact is that I only spend the same amount of time in the gym as the regular 9-5s. It's all about spending limited amount of time but getting the best results. It's all comes to concentration-- in every set, every rep, and every breath, to maximize your workout result within limited time. I assume most people has limited time for the gym, especially here in Asia (most people work more than 50 hours a week!). So, it's a VERY good idea to set your time to get out of the gym b4 your start your workout. Try not to waste your time waiting for equipments if you can find other alternatives near you. Getting a workout partner or a trainer to scout for your next available equipment, etc. will help.

My diet principle is-- get into a good habit to like what you eat (yes, make it healthy and delicious), or course, soon you will be eating what you like all the time! If you don't like your current hi protein or low carb diet, then don't do it. You won't wanna be on this kind of diet forever-- it's not that healthy anyway. You wanna look good, and healthy both inside and out. High protein diets most of the time add so much work for your liver and kidney to process, while carbs are easier and more efficient fuel for your body, why bother your kidney but ignore your stomach? Just get a balanced meal!

...it's probably not working for everyone... depends on a combination of your definition of health, your gene, etc... and your objective in your workout.

Your Objective Function= knowing what you want, your constraints, and the variable to get to it. Then do the math first and you will find out how efficiency affects your happiness! :)
